What Kudos is
Kudos is a personal, non-commercial hobby project by Rico Ordonio. It lets people
create shared group greeting cards ("boards") and collect messages ("cards") from
others. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it is used.
Information you provide
Account information. If you sign in with Google or with a magic link, Kudos receives your email address and, from Google, your name and basic profile details. Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth.
Board and card content. When you create a board or post a card, the app stores what you enter: board titles, a recipient's name, a recipient's email address if you add one, card text, author names, uploaded images, selected GIFs, and links to YouTube or Vimeo videos.
Signing in is optional. You can create boards and post cards without an account.
Information stored on your device
Kudos uses your browser's local storage to remember which boards you have visited,
which cards you posted, and which reactions you added. This data stays on your device
and is not sent to a server.
How your information is used
To operate the app: display boards and cards, apply themes, and let board owners manage their boards.
To send a small number of emails: a sign-in magic link when you request one, a delivery email to a board's recipient when a board is delivered, and an optional daily summary to a board owner when new cards are added.
Kudos does not sell your information, does not show ads, and does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Services Kudos relies on
Kudos is built on third-party services that process data on its behalf:
Supabase for the database, authentication, and image storage.
Resend for sending the emails described above.
Google for optional sign-in.
Giphy for GIF search, if you add a GIF.
YouTube and Vimeo for video embeds, if you add a video link.
Amazon Web Services for hosting the website.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles data.
Data retention and deletion
A board owner can archive or permanently delete their boards at any time.
Archived boards are permanently deleted 30 days after they are archived.
Boards with no activity for an extended period may be removed automatically.
To request deletion of your account or specific content, contact the address below.
Children
Kudos is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their
personal information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of
the page will change when it does.
